How we work
We always start with a visit. We look at the type of soil, how much sun the garden gets, the views to keep or screen, and how you use your outdoor space. The resulting plan takes into account your budget and the amount of upkeep you are happy with: a garden that needs two hours a month is not designed like a plant collector’s garden.
The right time
Groundwork can be done all year round, except during frost or when the ground is waterlogged. Planting is ideally done from October to March, when plants are dormant, and lawns are sown in spring or early autumn.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to create a garden?
For a town garden, the work often takes a few days. Large plots or projects with a lot of groundwork take longer: the exact duration is stated in the quote.
Do I need a plan before starting?
Yes, even a simple one. It avoids unpleasant surprises and lets you create the garden in several phases if you want to spread the budget.
Can you keep the existing trees?
In most cases, yes. We assess their condition during the visit and include them in the project whenever possible.
